Livestreaming is a great way to promote your business. It’s fun, interactive and you have a responsive audience tuned in to the knowledge you’re sharing. But it’s a waste of your time and energy to deliver a Livestream without also converting your participants into leads or customers. While you have them there paying attention, you also have the opportunity to connect with them and help them.
Don’t Let Your Audience Get Away
Because your event is live, your participants aren’t signed up. They have not given you any information about themselves such as an email address. Once the Livestream is over, they could disappear. You need to capture their information so that you can keep in touch with them. Your Livestream has started a relationship that you need to continue. Tools like Streamyard enable you to add a banner on the screen with the URL to your sign-up page.
Promote a Lead Magnet
One way to gather viewer information is to offer a lead magnet. This is a freebie that your audience can download by signing up for it (giving their name and email address). During your live event, promote the freebie. Make sure it’s something related to the Livestream topic so people will be interested. Emphasise the benefits and that it’s free. You can then connect with the people who download it through email.
Get Your Viewers to Join
Create an online group and get your viewers to join. It could be a forum, a social media group, or any other place online where they can talk to each other and further discuss the topic at hand. Explain what they’ll get out of the group by signing up and offer an incentive such as a gift or discount if you want more people to join.

Expand Your Social Media Presence
Remind your viewers to follow you on social media. Throughout the Livestream, put your profiles on the screen so people can connect with you. If you’re using Facebook Live, LinkedIn Live or Periscope (which is connected to Twitter), it’s especially easy since you’re already on the platform.
Add Effective Calls-to-Action
The key to getting your participants to follow you elsewhere is to include calls-to-action during your presentation. Where appropriate, mention the benefits people can receive by connecting with you elsewhere and give people the link to do it. Make it as easy as possible. At the end of the presentation, leave your viewers with a strong final call-to-action.
Offer Unique Value in Your Livestream
Whether you can turn the leads participating in your Livestream into customers depends entirely on the value your content offers. Make sure you have a good topic that’s highly relevant to your target market. Promote your event well and make it as interactive and engaging as possible so that people will want to find out more. When you do this, leads and conversions from your Livestream are easy!
